Growing up, I was nervous about trying jalapeños due to their infamous spicy flavor. However, we grew some in our garden one year as an experiment and learned that they are delicious. When you remove the seeds, most of the heat is also removed, so you can basically adjust the “spiciness” to your liking by adding in more or less of the seeds. This can be somewhat of a gamble, however, because some jalapeños are spicier than others.
I first tried a version of this dip at a work party, which included canned jalapeños. I did some recreating with fresh peppers, and let me tell you, the fresh jalapeños are SO good. I often make this dip for get-togethers and parties, especially when the garden is bountiful. It is for sure a crowd-pleaser, and I often get many requests for the recipe. As an added bonus, this homemade dip can be made without any added sugar or sweeteners, so if that’s something you’re avoiding, you can keep this on your list – hooray! Without further ado, here’s a great gluten-free dip to pair with gluten-free tortilla chips at your next gathering.
