13 Gift Ideas for Expecting Mamas

As I’m writing this, I just had my second baby! I’m also in that season where I know lots of other expecting ladies, so I thought it may be helpful to compile a list of my favorite products and gift ideas for expecting moms. If you’re looking for gift ideas for an expecting mama or perhaps are making a baby registry and want to add a couple things for yourself, here’s some ideas!

  • Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter: During my first pregnancy, I was pregnant throughout the winter months, and my skin became dry and itchy. Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter felt like it quenched my skin’s thirst, and I love that it’s made of 99% all natural ingredients.
  • Elasticity Serum by Little Seed Farm: I found this brand in a search for natural deodorant that kept us from getting stinky. We absolutely love their deodorant cream and bamboo applicators. If you’re looking for aluminum free deodorant, my favorites are the lavender and the jasmine & green tea, and my husband likes the charcoal. After our great experience with the deodorant, I decided to try their elasticity serum, and I love it! I rub it on my skin when it’s still damp after a shower. It absorbs well and smells great. I also love that it’s made with natural ingredients and organic essential oils. It was wonderful for my ever expanding belly! I use a little on my acne-prone face as well, and haven’t had any issues with breaking out! They now have a referral program, too – click here to use my referral link and get 10% off your first order (then I get a little $$, too!).
  • Nursing Pads, disposable or washable: These are a practical gift for the breastfeeding mom. I use both types. If you are looking into the washable kind, definitely get the type made with seam so they are slightly cupped. The flat circle ones are much more lumpy.
  • Dry Shampoo: Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo was amazing! I got this in a gift at my baby shower for my first son. I had used dry shampoo before, but liked this brand much more, mostly because it didn’t have a weird smell reminding me that I didn’t shower. Another practical gift, as sometimes taking a shower is more of a luxury when caring for a baby.
  • Bathrobe and/or comfortable nursing wear for the hospital: Hospital gowns are fine, but to keep that bum covered it’s nice to have something on hand that might even look a little cute.
  • Gift cards for meals for after the baby comes: It’s a great gift to not have to worry about making dinner! (Also, setting up a Meal Train is a great gift, too).
  • Gift cards for pampering: Whether it’s a prenatal massage, pedicure (as it gets harder and harder to reach those toes), or facial, a relaxing day is appreciated as mama prepares for the big day.
  • Pregnancy pillow: this was fantastic during my first pregnancy. It kept me comfy throughout the entire pregnancy. (For my second pregnancy, I struggled to be “comfortable” even with the pillow, but I was glad to have it to attempt to be more comfortable than I was).
  • Garden of Life Organic Prenatal Multivitamin Supplement with Folate: Maybe not a super “fun” gift to give, but I love this vitamin made from whole food. Maybe it’d be a great addition to a gift basket for a mom-to-be. I tried several different kinds, and this was my favorite. This prenatal vitamin actually sat well in my belly (which makes sense since it’s made from food). They are larger pills to swallow, so they are great if mama isn’t having trouble swallowing pills.
  • Pink Stork Liquid Prenatal Vitamin: I was quite nauseous most of my second pregnancy and couldn’t swallow pills. I tried this liquid vitamin instead, and I was able to take it without any gagging. I found this on Amazon, but as I’m writing this, it’s not available there. You can check out the Pink Stork website for this vitamin and other pregnancy related products.
  • Pink Stork Mist: Magnesium Spray for Morning Sickness & Nausea Relief: This really helped me with my morning sickness, along with taking Epsom salt baths and taking magnesium supplements. It’s convenient because you don’t have to swallow a pill or make time for a bath, you just spray it on! Check out the Pink Stork website for more information.
  • Stretchy nursing covers: There’s a ton of versions of these out there now. I love that they cover both front and back, as both my babies were active when nursing. They can also be used as a car seat cover and are breathable.
  • Snacks. Growing a human takes a lot of work. Send all the snacks.
